RetroNomicon Quarterly is a print-and-digital magazine conjured for those who still hear the hum of old machines in their bones. We chronicle the living rituals of retro gaming, from homebrew devs building new games for ancient consoles, to chiptune musicians, pixel artists, collectors, and the faithful few still blowing into cartridges and pressing Start.

Each issue is a handcrafted grimoire:

  • Packed with previews of new NES, Genesis, Game Boy, and C64 titles
  • Interviews with underground developers and scene elders
  • Commentary from beyond the veil (and from our dark liege, Siphone, The Tentacled One)
  • Essays, features, con reports, puzzles, and pixel-bound madness

The sigils are inked. The cartridges are carved. The ritual begins.

Issue One of RetroNomicon Quarterly is no mere magazine. Its a summoning. A conjuration of pixel-bound spirits, magnetic memories, and forbidden code. Within these pages lie rites of resurrection, handcrafted cartridges, and the cryptic voices of those who dare to make new games for old gods (NES, Genesis, C64, and beyond).

Included in this tome:

  • The Evolution of Retro Gaming— A feature-length incantation charting the sacred timeline of retro gaming in 2025.
  • Bit By Bit, Built By Fans — Revelations about those who bind soul to silicon and build new legends on sacred plastic.
  • Freshly Conjured — Our altar of 15+ homebrew games, previewed and revealed. Titles like Kouyate, Malasombra, Banana Bash, and Children of Magia shimmer and flicker with unholy promise.
  • The Second Coming of SEGA — A prophecy fulfilled. The Genesis returns in the hands of believers.
  • Summonings, rituals, and missives from the field—developer interviews, convention encounters, and scene whispers
  • Plus: Music from the void and the First Fragment of the Operation of Siphone.

This is a volume of power. A collectors grimoire for the cartridge-curious and the chronically enchanted.
